Big Things Are Happening!
Green Ember: Helmer in the Dragon Tomb is now making its way into the hands of Kickstarter backers! At long last, fans of Helmer can begin exploring his origin story. We couldn’t be more excited to see you dive in.
We also have an official launch date: November 18th!
Historically, it’s not the most festive date — mostly earthquakes and military actions. When you think about it, not many excuses for a party… unless you’re one of the very few people celebrating the day the first push-button phone went into service. If you are, and you really love pushing buttons, mark your calendar and push the “Play” button on Steam for Green Ember: Helmer in the Dragon Tomb on Tuesday, November 18th.
BTS: The Cave
As you know, much of Helmer in the Dragon Tomb takes place underground in a massive cavern. When I first talked with Sam about the cover, I joked that it’s not easy to paint a black rabbit in a dark cave.
Early concept:

(We do have a video of some rejected cover concepts if you’re interested.)
The Brazen team solved the lighting problem beautifully by adding saturated blues and purples as stand-ins for black. It also contrasts well with the warm light of torches — not just making the scene prettier, but also revealing the cave’s history. With more visible detail, you start to notice the statues, murals, and carvings that tell the story of the dragons who once ruled there. These weren’t creatures hiding in a cave — they were cultivating it for their own purposes.

Fixes and Feedback
We’re hard at work patching gaps, correcting typos, and smoothing out gameplay. If you’re playing now — or testing the demo — and come across something a little wonky, please leave a note. It helps us log and prioritize fixes.
